Host Nations of Commonwealth Games &Medal Tally of Commonwealth Games





The Commonwealth Games are held by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), a union of 70 countries located in the major continents: Asia, Africa, Americas, Europe, the Caribbean and Oceania. The CGF was created in 1930 by Bobby Robbinson with a firm determination to promote and lift one of the unique atmosphere, friendly, world-class games in these countries and also strengthen the harmonious mutual relations between the Commonwealth. The three foundation principles of the Common wealth Games Federation: Humanity, Equality and Destiny! These are the parameters held accountable by the Commonwealth Games Federation for every important decision in the union.To improve the standard of living of the residents and the societal norms; the Commonwealth Games Federation is also a staunch supporter of education and awareness via sports and recreation. The distinguishing feature of the Common Wealth Games is, its formation based on history, as compared to the geographic and climatic factors responsible for the formation of other world sport associations. It also bags the honour of being the only Games Federation that has a common language for conversation i.e. English. For this reason, the Commonwealth Games have also been coined as Friendly Games, and thus; have been a source of inspiration amongst the Youth of the Commonwealth Nations, to excel in games and sports. After its conception in 1930, were known as the Commonwealth Games British Empire Games, followed by other titles, such as the British Empire and the British Common Wealth Games. In 1978, a member of the Commonwealth nations decided unanimously that they called"Commonwealth Games ". The first Common Wealth Games (1930) held in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Since then, total Wealth games in all four years except in 1942 and 1946 because of World War II. Conducted in many other Commonwealth nations, such as London, Sydney, Aukland and Kuala Lumpur, the most recent Commonwealth Games was held in Manchester, London in 2002.

Last or recent Commonwealth Games were conducted between 15-26 March 2006, in Melbourne, Australia, Victioria state capital and second largest city Kang continent. India will also be hosting the Common Wealth games in the first and second to Asia in 2010, in New Delhi, the capital of India. Sport, which will consist of the common Wealth Games Cycling, Basketball, Rugby, Weightlifting, shooting, squash, table tennis, water sports, athletics, gymnastics, hockey, badminton, basketball, Bowls, Boxing and Triathlon

The President of India, Mrs Pratibha Patil has accepted the Queen of England's invitation to grace Queen's Baton Relay 2010 Delhi's launch ceremony XIX Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010. The Queen's Baton Relay is a tradition of the Commonwealth Games and serves as a curtain raiser every Commonwealth Games since 1958. The Queen `s Baton Delhi in 2010 will be 240 days to complete the epic journey for all other member countries and territories of the Commonwealth. During this time it will cover a distance of more than 170,000 kilometers, and 100 days while her national tour, the baton will visit every state and the Indian capital, plus many other cities along the route, with more than 20,000 kilometers. This is Queen's Baton Relay 2010 Delhi national sector twice as long as Manchester and Melbourne relays, which lasted 50 days. New Delhi: While the MCD claims to be taking aim to ensure good games in a 2010 in the capital Delhi High Court is unlikely to influence by saying "the development, if made, should be visible."

New Delhi: Zee News reports from the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) is concerned that a number of new sites for the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games fall behind schedule.

CGF President Michael Fennel said:"We are concerned that some of the construction deadlines will be met. But there is still time and if the new deadlines are met, that's good ".

Delays in construction have been cancellations of several international events also serve as test sites is used at the Games in October 2010.

The shooting and Commonwealth boxing championships were postponed, and the world badminton championships were moved to the southern Indian city of Hyderabad.

Suresh Kalmadi, head of the organizing committee, said that all sites except the rugby sevens arena and velodrome would be completed by December.

"Many deadlines are met and efforts are in hand to further improve efficiency in meeting deadlines ", he said in a statement.

Commonwealth officials say distressed over delays to Delhi venues


New Delhi: The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) is concerned that a number of new locations for next year's multi-sports meet in the Indian capital fall behind schedule.

"We are concerned that some of the construction deadlines are not met,"CGF president Michael Funnel told CNN-IBN news channel on Friday after a meeting of the Games'Coordination Committee.

"But there is still time and if the new deadlines are met, that's good,"he added. Delays in construction have led to the cancellation of several international events also serve as trail running sites for use in October 2010 at the Olympics.
