Copy of letter from the Delhi 2010 GTC OC President Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, MP, seeking the rescheduling of cricket matches during the Games time:
Greetings from the Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi Organsing Committee.
You will be aware that the XIX Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 is approaching and we have 94 days to go from the start. Our preparations to ensure that we host a successful Games are in final stages and we are sure to offer the best Games ever.
I am writing to request your good offices to try to convince the Board of Control for Cricket in India to reschedule the test of the two matches between India and Australia, now scheduled to begin October 2 and 10 in Mohali October in Bangalore so that no conflict with the 2010 Commonwealth Games Delhi.
No need to stress the importance of having no international cricket in India for the Commonwealth Games. I have written to Mr. Sharad Pawar as soon as July 1, 2009, looking for due consideration by the Board of contorl for Cricket in India to ensure that not schedule any major cricket matches during the Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi .
I'm sure going to use his good offices to convince the BCCI to reprogram cricket series
